BOSS OPEN with Tiafoe and Struff

"I hope to come back next year!" That was Frances Tiafoe's farewell after his tournament triumph at the BOSS OPEN 2023. Just over three months before this year's edition, it is now certain that the American will be back at Stuttgart's Weissenhof. This also applies to Jan-Lennard Struff, who battled Tiafoe in last year's thrilling final to no avail.

After Germany's number one Alexander Zverev, the next top stars have confirmed their participation in the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart from June 8-16 2024: Frances Tiafoe and Jan-Lennard Struff will once again aim to win the title in a potential rematch of last year’s thrilling final.

2023, Tiafoe and Struff gave the fans an exciting see-saw battle. In the end, Tiafoe came out on top in a real tennis thriller, winning 4-6, 7-6 (7/1), 7-6 (10/8) after fending off a match point. The spectators on the sold-out center court at the Weissenhof acknowledged the world-class performances of both players with standing ovations throughout the final.

Tiafoe was not only pleased with his first lawn title at BOSS OPEN in the preseason, but he also took many good memories from the region. “The audience was one of the most respectful I have ever experienced. Of course, they wanted Struffi to win, but they also applauded me and did a great job. I like to remember this tournament. Everyone was super nice to me, and so many people were there at the training sessions to watch us practice. Everything was so relaxed, so I am happy to come back to the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart this year,” explains Frances Tiafoe.

It is no coincidence that the charismatic American, who is currently ranked 16th in the world, has an extremely good connection to fans all over the world, as the three-time ATP tournament winner knows how to engage the audience in his matches like no other. Even in seemingly hopeless situations, Tiafoe never loses confidence and interacts with the crowd when he wins a spectacular point. As one of the main characters in the Netflix series "Break Point", "Big Foe's" popularity has skyrocketed once again. One of his most prominent fans is pop star Justin Bieber, who watched Tiafoe's third round match against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino at the US Open in New York live in the Arthur Ashe Stadium last year.

"I came close to winning my first title on the tour last year in Stuttgart. The atmosphere and energy, especially in the semi-finals and finals, were incredible. My family felt totally at home at Weissenhof. I'm really looking forward to coming back this year," emphasized the current world number 25 Jan-Lennard Struff.

"We are delighted that Alexander Zverev and Jan-Lennard Struff, the two top German players, will be competing at the BOSS OPEN this year. In addition, defending champion Frances Tiafoe, one of the most dazzling player personalities on the ATP Tour, is coming to the Weissenhof. With these three stars, this year's tournament already has a first-class line-up. However, it is to be expected that we will be able to present Stuttgart's tennis fans with even more top players in the coming weeks," emphasizes Tournament Director Edwin Weindorfer.
