Top stars kick off their BOSS OPEN campaigns

Following a rain-affected Wednesday, fans at the BOSS OPEN can look forward to a packed day of tennis on Thursday. Due to the lengthy rain delays, defending champion Taylor Fritz (USA) will make his first appearance of the tournament a day later than planned.

Centre Court action gets underway at 11 am with the round-of-16 clash between Frances Tiafoe and Australian Rinky Hijikata. Attention then turns to Nick Kyrgios, who returns to Centre Court after his impressive comeback victory over Corentin Moutet. The Australian faces Japanese qualifier Sho Shimabukuro for a place in the quarter-finals. Not before 3 pm, Taylor Fritz takes on Spanish rising star Martin Landaluce.

Following Fritz’s match, fans can look forward to an all-American showdown. Top seed Ben Shelton begins his quest for the BOSS OPEN title against fellow American Marcos Giron and will be aiming to take the next step towards the weekend. The match is scheduled to commence not before 5 pm.

There will also be plenty of high-quality tennis on the Colosseum Court. Fourth seed Jiri Lehecka faces Australia’s James Duckworth, while several doubles matches postponed due to the weather will also be completed. Alexander Bublik and Nick Kyrgios will make another attempt to face Jakub Paul and Ryan Seggerman, while Daniel Altmaier and Hendrik Jebens take on the top-seeded pairing of Francisco Cabral and Nikola Mektic.

With Fritz, Shelton, Kyrgios and Tiafoe all scheduled to appear on Centre Court, fans can look forward to an exciting and entertaining day of tennis at the Weissenhof.
