Ben Shelton is the next top star at the BOSS OPEN

Ben Shelton während der BOSS OPEN 2024

Tennis fans can look forward to the next spectacular player at the BOSS OPEN 2025! Ben Shelton will be playing in Stuttgart from June 7 to 15. The highly talented American, currently ranked 12th in the world, is the third player from the Top 15 to confirm his participation at the event, following Alexander Zverev (ATP No. 2) and Taylor Fritz (ATP No. 4).

Ben Shelton is a player from the young generation of tennis stars, and experts have high expectations for his future. His immense talent first became evident at the 2023 Australian Open in Melbourne when he sensationally reached the quarterfinals. Shelton's strength in Grand Slam tournaments was further confirmed later that year at the US Open in New York, where he advanced to the semifinals. He repeated this achievement at the start of the current season, making headlines again in Melbourne by reaching the semifinals.

The left-handed player has two ATP titles to his name, having won the 2023 Tokyo tournament on hardcourt and the 2024 Houston event on clay. The only thing missing from his impressive resume is a triumph on grass, which he could achieve at the BOSS OPEN, as his powerful serve, regularly exceeding 230 km/h, is perfectly suited to the grass-courts.

"The BOSS OPEN is the perfect tournament to get reacquainted with the unique grass-court game and to prepare as best as possible for the Grand Slam at Wimbledon," says Ben Shelton. "I’m looking forward to Stuttgart and coming with the goal of playing as many matches as possible."

Tournament director Edwin Weindorfer is thrilled by the 22-year-old's commitment: "We are excited to welcome Ben Shelton, one of the most talented players on the ATP tour, to the BOSS OPEN. His power and captivating playing style have impressed, and he will certainly thrill the tennis fans in Stuttgart."

With Ben Shelton, the player field has gained another high-profile addition, joining the already confirmed top German players Alexander Zverev and Jan-Lennard Struff, the US duo Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, two-time Stuttgart champion Matteo Berrettini (ITA/2019, 2022), as well as fan favorites Gael Monfils (FRA) and Nick Kyrgios (AUS) for the BOSS OPEN 2025.
