BOSS OPEN celebrate sustainability day presented by PreZero
On Wednesday, the focus at the BOSS OPEN will extend far beyond world-class tennis. With the Sustainability Day presented by PreZero, topics such as sustainability, circular economy, inclusion and social responsibility will take center stage at the TC Weissenhof. In doing so, the BOSS OPEN once again underline their commitment to combining ecological, economic and social sustainability under the motto “The Green Centre Court.”
Together with partners, clubs and initiatives, visitors can look forward to a diverse program of interactive activities. The day begins with an open training session on the Activity Court, where Wimbledon Head Coach Dan Bloxham and Niklas Höfken will share valuable tips with players of all ages and abilities. Afterwards, clubs from the Württemberg Tennis Association (WTB) will be honored in the Activity Village for their outstanding commitment to sustainable practices as part of the N!-Charta Sport initiative.
Another highlight will be the Blue Demonstration on Match Court 2. The “Blue Motivation Circle”, a sustainable artwork created for tennis, symbolizes the connection between creativity, community and environmental awareness. Following this, BOSS OPEN Tournament Ambassador Michael Berrer and Dan Bloxham will invite clubs and tennis enthusiasts to take part in an interactive tennis session before the afternoon concludes with a show match and free play for all visitors.
Beyond the action day itself, the BOSS OPEN continue to implement a wide range of sustainability initiatives. Together with PreZero, the tournament is pursuing a long-term “Road to Zero Waste” strategy focused on waste reduction, recycling and circular economy solutions. With the support of Renewaball, HEAD and Elis, used tennis balls are collected and returned to the recycling cycle, while waterdrop® helps eliminate single-use plastic bottles by providing free water stations throughout the venue.
The Sustainability Day demonstrates that sustainability and elite sport go hand in hand – and that the future of tennis is shaped not only on the court, but beyond it as well.
