Fans of the BOSS OPEN can look forward to some high-class matches already in the first round.

Local hero and Weissenhof regular Jan-Lennard Struff, who entered the competition with a wild card, will face up-and-coming Italian Matteo Arnaldi, currently ranked 36th in the world. Super talent Justin Engel, who helped with the draw himself and is also in the competition with a wild card, will face a qualifier yet to be determined in the first round. For Engel, it is his debut at a grass court tournament at the highest ATP level.

French crowd favorite Gael Monfils will face seventh-seeded American Alex Michelsen in the first round. Denis Shapovalov, the number 5 seed in the tournament, will face Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, Brandon Nakashima (USA/6) will take on Britain's Jacob Feranley, and the number 8 seed, Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic, will face Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi in his first-round match.

The top 4 seeds in the tournament – Alexander Zverev (GER), Taylor Fritz (USA), Ben Shelton (USA) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN) – will enter the competition in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round.
