With Tommy Paul, four top American aces to compete at the BOSS OPEN

The American tennis stars have big plans in Stuttgart this June! Following commitments from Taylor Fritz (ATP No. 4), Ben Shelton (No. 15), and Frances Tiafoe (No. 18), current world No. 12 Tommy Paul has now also confirmed his participation at the BOSS OPEN, taking place from June 7 to 15. This means that all four of the current top-ranked U.S. players will compete this year at TC Weissenhof.

Together with local German favorite Alexander Zverev, the preliminary entry list for the BOSS OPEN now includes five ATP Top 18 players. Tommy Paul has steadily climbed toward the Top 10 with consistently strong performances. Among his four ATP career titles, his standout win came last year at the prestigious grass-court tournament at London’s Queen’s Club. In addition, he reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2024 – achievements that certainly mark the 27-year-old as one of the favorites for the BOSS OPEN.

Paul has also lived up to his reputation as a prolific point-earner in the current season. In addition to reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in Melbourne, where he was defeated by Alexander Zverev, he made semifinal appearances in Adelaide, Dallas, and Houston. With 1,000 ATP points accumulated from these performances, Paul is currently ranked around tenth in the “Race to Turin.”

Paul is known for his aggressive forehand and his willingness to move quickly to the net. Skills that are especially well-suited to grass-court play. “I really enjoy playing on grass, so I’m already looking forward to the BOSS OPEN. I want to put on a great show for the fans in Stuttgart. I want them to see that I’m having fun on the court and that they can enjoy watching me,” says Paul, who always makes sure to bring entertainment value to his matches.

In addition to Alexander Zverev and the American quartet of Tommy Paul, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, the 2025 BOSS OPEN lineup boasts several more high-profile names. Germany’s No. 2 and 2022 Stuttgart finalist Jan-Lennard Struff has confirmed his participation, as has two-time Weissenhof champion Matteo Berrettini(ITA/2019, 2022), along with fan favorites Gael Monfils (FRA) and Nick Kyrgios (AUS).

“The fact that all four top-ranked U.S. tennis players will be competing at this year’s BOSS OPEN further elevates the tournament and will undoubtedly boost interest in this grass-court event within the crucial U.S. tennis market. We expect additional big-name confirmations in the coming weeks, as the entry deadline for this year’s BOSS OPEN is still more than four weeks away,” explains tournament director Edwin Weindorfer.
