Look forward to Tiafoe, Struff and Monfils
While the 2024 tennis season is slowly coming to an end, preparations for next year's BOSS OPEN are already in full swing. A top-class field of participants is already emerging at the Weissenhof.
As already confirmed a few weeks ago, an agreement has been reached with Alexander Zverev regarding an appearance at the BOSS OPEN 2025 , as well as with Taylor Fritz. Germany's number one presented himself in a brilliant mood at the end of the year and won his second title at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament this season in Paris-Bercy, having already triumphed at the clay court classic in Rome in May. Just last week, the world number two also impressed with strong performances and an advance to the semi-finals at the ATP Finals in Turin.
Taylor Fritz also qualified for the showdown in the Italian metropolis for the second time since 2022 and impressed in Turin by reaching the final. The US American played a stellar season, which he crowned by winning the tournaments in Delray Beach and Eastbourne, reaching a Grand Slam final at the US Open in New York for the first time and moving up to number four in the world rankings. This makes Fritz, who is also the Global Brand Ambassador for BOSS, without a doubt, one of the rising stars of the year on the ATP Tour.
However, the 27-year-old Fritz will not be the only US star to serve at the BOSS OPEN next year, as Frances Tiafoe has also already confirmed his Stuttgart start in 2025. The world number 18 is one of the biggest draws in the world's tennis stadiums, as he delivers spectacular shots, after which he sometimes ‘high-fives’ his fans in the audience. Tiafoe also has fond memories of Stuttgart after winning the tournament in 2023. He secured his triumph back then with a three-set victory in a thrilling final against Jan-Lennard Struff.
Speaking of Struff: next year, Germany's number two will try to make up for what he was denied by Tiafoe in 2023 - in other words, to win the prestigious tournament at Stuttgart's Weissenhof. The 34-year-old experienced what it feels like to triumph in front of a home crowd in Munich this season when he won his first singles title at his 218th ATP tournament.
He will be joined by two more superstars, French tennis entertainer Gael Monfils and eccentric Australian Nick Kyrgios, at the BOSS OPEN 2025! While Monfils has regained his place among the world's top players after a number of physical setbacks, Kyrgios is still working hard on his eagerly awaited comeback, which is planned for the start of the coming season. “I haven't felt this good for two years,” said the ‘enfant terrible’ in a recent interview. Kyrgios hasn't played an ATP tournament since Stuttgart 2023.
“The commitments of Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Jan-Lennard Struff, Gael Monfils and Nick Kyrgios once again underline how attractive and popular the BOSS OPEN is as the start of the grass court season for tennis stars. In any case, fans can look forward to a top field of participants at Stuttgart's Weissenhof next year with many different types of players,” emphasizes Tournament Director Edwin Weindorfer.
