BOSS OPEN main draw complete
Stricker, Albot, O’Connell and Rodionov complete the main draw of the BOSS OPEN at Stuttgart’s Weissenhof.
The final day of qualification started with a shock as Frenchman Quentin Halys had to retire after injuring his hip at 2-1 against Frenchman Quentin Halys. Albot, thus, moved on to the main draw of the BOSS OPEN. Swiss youngster Dominic Stricker only needed 71 minutes in his match to oust German local hero Mats Moraing 6-4, 6-3. Last year, Stricker made good use of his wild card, reaching the quarter-finals.
The last German in the qualification, Peter Gojowczyk, lost to Australian O’Connell 3-6, 4-6.
The fourth and final place for the main draw went to Jurij Rodionov after playing the longest match in all of the qualification. The Austrian finally wore out Safiullin after more than 2.5 hours 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (6).
