Defending Champion Taylor Fritz to compete at the BOSS OPEN 2026
While the Asian tournaments mark the beginning of the final quarter of the ATP Tour season, preparations are already underway in Stuttgart for next year’s edition of the BOSS OPEN! And there’s great news for tennis fans: Taylor Fritz has confirmed that he will return to the TC Weissenhof from June 6 to 14, 2026, determined to defend his title. In addition to the current World No. 4, his fellow American Tommy Paul and German local hero Jan-Lennard Struff have also confirmed their participation at the BOSS OPEN 2026.
For BOSS brand ambassador Taylor Fritz, last June’s tournament triumph in Stuttgart was truly special. The 27-year-old American showcased outstanding form at the Weissenhof, securing the title without dropping a set. In a high-quality final, Fritz defeated Germany’s top star Alexander Zverev 6/3, 7/6 (7/0) on a sold-out Centre Court, before celebrating his victory in style.
“It was a dream week for me. I’m super happy with how I started the grass-court season by winning the title here. Lifting the BOSS OPEN trophy is something really special,” Fritz said. Looking ahead to 2026, he added: “I feel very comfortable in Stuttgart—the tournament is perfectly organized and the fans create an incredible atmosphere during the matches. That’s why I’m really looking forward to coming back to the Weissenhof. Hopefully, I can pick up where I left off this year,” said Fritz, who has won five of his ten ATP titles on grass.
Another American with proven grass-court credentials is Tommy Paul, who has also committed to Stuttgart 2026. His aggressive forehand and his willingness to move quickly to the net make him ideally suited for grass, something he demonstrated last season with his title run at London’s Queen’s Club and his quarterfinal appearance at Wimbledon.
Fans of Jan-Lennard Struff can also celebrate: the 35-year-old from Warstein has confirmed his participation at the BOSS OPEN next year. His best result at the tournament so far was reaching the 2023 final, where “Struffi” narrowly lost in a dramatic third-set tiebreak to Frances Tiafoe (USA). “Playing in German tournaments is always special. That’s especially true for Stuttgart, where the atmosphere and the crowd are always outstanding,” said Struff, who recently showed strong form by reaching the round of 16 at the US Open in New York.
“It’s a great honor for the BOSS OPEN that Taylor Fritz has already announced his intention to defend his title in Stuttgart at such an early stage. We’re also very pleased that Tommy Paul and Jan-Lennard Struff will be playing at the Weissenhof next year. The commitments of this trio once again underline the importance and strong position of the BOSS OPEN at the start of the grass-court season on the ATP Tour,” emphasized tournament director Edwin Weindorfer.
