Qualifiers are set

It turned out to be a real French festival: In the all-French duel, Pierre-Hugues Herbert first gave veteran Richard Gasquet the slip with 6-3, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (5). Compatriot Matteo Martineau also prevailed in a tie-break thriller against American Maxime Cressy 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (5) and thus also made it into the main draw. Rudolf Molleker lost to Australian James Duckworth 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.

Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and local hero Benjamin Hassan had a full schedule on Sunday. Forst, they had to finish their matches, which had not been started the day before due to rain or had been called off early, right at the start before they were able to decide the last qualifying place in a direct duel. Hassan initially prevailed in the all-German duel against Max Hans Rehberg in three sets. Perricard then dispatched the Ukrainian Vadym Ursu in two sets. The duel between Perricard and Hassan then developed into a tie-break thriller with the Frenchman coming out on top, ultimately winning 7-6 (5), 6-7 (7), 7-6 (5).
