Top-10 Stars Zverev, Shelton and Fritz headline the stellar line-up at the BOSS OPEN

Tennis fans can look forward to a star-studded display at the BOSS OPEN from June 6 to 14 at Stuttgart’s Weissenhof! Led by Germany’s number one Alexander Zverev, the entry list features three Top-10 stars and no fewer than 14 players ranked among the world’s Top 30.

Last year’s finalist Alexander Zverev (ATP No. 3), Ben Shelton (USA/ATP No. 6) and defending champion Taylor Fritz (USA/ATP No. 7) lead the world-class field at the 2026 BOSS OPEN. Fans still vividly remember last year’s final, when BOSS brand ambassador Fritz defeated Zverev in straight sets on a sold-out Centre Court. Fritz’s strength on grass is underlined by the fact that five of his ten ATP titles have come on the sport’s fastest surface.

Looking at the latest live rankings, where Alexander Bublik currently occupies the No. 10 spot, Stuttgart could even welcome four Top-10 players at the €768,220 ATP grass-court event in early June. The Kazakh enjoyed an outstanding 2025 season and showcased his grass-court qualities impressively by capturing the title in Halle. Bublik, renowned for his unconventional and entertaining playing style, also claimed tournament victories in Gstaad, Kitzbühel and Hangzhou. Earlier this year, the 28-year-old added another ATP title to his résumé in Hong Kong.

The same can be said for American star Ben Shelton, who followed up his home triumph in Dallas by recently lifting the trophy in Munich. With his booming serve and aggressive game, Shelton possesses all the tools required for success on grass courts.

A closer look at the draw also reveals the strong American presence in Stuttgart. Alongside Fritz and Shelton, fellow Americans Tommy Paul (ATP No. 18), Learner Tien (ATP No. 21), Frances Tiafoe (2023 Stuttgart champion/ATP No. 22), Brandon Nakashima (ATP No. 32), Alex Michelsen (ATP No. 42) and Sebastian Korda (ATP No. 43) are also set to compete, bringing the total number of US players in the field to eight.

Particular attention will be on Learner Tien, who won the Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah last year and is regarded as one of the sport’s brightest young prospects.

Fans will also be thrilled to welcome back two familiar faces in Stuttgart: two-time Stuttgart champion and BOSS brand ambassador Matteo Berrettini as well as tennis entertainer Nick Kyrgios.

Germany will also be strongly represented at its home event. In addition to Alexander Zverev, Yannick Hanfmann, Daniel Altmaier, Jan-Lennard Struff and Justin Engel are all set to compete in Stuttgart. Germany is equally well represented in doubles, with Monte Carlo champions Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz as well as Munich winners Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner entering the tournament. The duo of Hanfmann and Struff has also signed up for the doubles competition.

“We are delighted to welcome eight players from the Top 18 of the ATP Rankings to this year’s BOSS OPEN, guaranteeing world-class and spectacular grass-court tennis from the first qualifying match to the final point of the championship match. With Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Alexander Bublik, alongside established stars such as Matteo Berrettini and Nick Kyrgios, as well as exciting newcomers like Learner Tien and Justin Engel, we are offering our visitors a perfect blend of playing styles and tennis generations,” said tournament director Edwin Weindorfer.

Former world No. 42 and tournament ambassador Michael Berrer agrees: “This year’s entry list reflects the positive development of the BOSS OPEN. The tournament continues to evolve through numerous innovations – and the players are noticing it. The outstanding conditions on Stuttgart’s grass courts, the unique atmosphere at the TC Weissenhof venue and many other details are well known on tour. This is ultimately reflected in an exceptionally strong field like this year’s, with a cut-off of 43,” emphasized Berrer.

The cut-off refers to the ATP ranking position required for direct entry into the main draw of an ATP tournament. A cut-off of 43 marks the highest in the recent history of the BOSS OPEN and serves as another indicator of the tournament’s exceptional strength in 2026.
