Hydration company waterdrop® becomes new "Premium Partner"

At this year's BOSS OPEN, special attention will be paid to the topic of sustainability with a focus on ecology, economy and social issues. The Austrian hydration company waterdrop®, which has been won over as a new "Premium Partner", plays a major role in the implementation of this intention.

The success story of the Austrian hydration company in tennis began with last year’s entrance of waterdrop® at the Mallorca Championships, which, like the BOSS OPEN, are organized by e|motion sports. waterdrop® has been a global partner of the men's tennis professional association ATP since this year, and superstar Novak Djokovic has also joined waterdrop® as an investor. The Serb is a brand ambassador for the company, as are Stuttgart starter Taylor Fritz and his US compatriot Danielle Collins.

The BOSS OPEN will feature innovative player benches with an integrated beverage service. For this purpose, waterdrop® will not only provide the players with individually designed drinking bottles, but will also be responsible for supplying the visitors with free drinking water. All these measures serve to make the lawn tournament at Stuttgart's Weissenhof a plastic-free event.

waterdrop® has set itself the goal of inspiring communities to live healthier and more sustainable lives by drinking more water and unlocking its full potential. Its products, including dissolvable microdrink cubes with fruity flavors, reusable water bottles and state-of-the-art water filtration systems, are designed to eliminate plastic waste and reduce sugar consumption. To date, waterdrop® innovations have prevented more than 30 million plastic bottles from entering circulation.

"Shaking up the beverage industry is not only necessary, it's a real environmental imperative", says Martin Murray, CEO and founder of waterdrop®. "We strongly believe that the values and commitment of the tennis world are a great fit with our vision. The cooperation with the ATP is the beginning of a big and profound change. Reducing our plastic consumption and unnecessary CO2 emissions are steps we all need to take. We are delighted that the world's best tennis players are now also using our bottles and drinking benches at the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart. It is an important symbol of an ongoing, profound change in the industry. Together with the tennis highlight at the Weissenhof, we are placing an important focus on sustainability", adds Murray.

"The cooperation with waterdrop® at the Mallorca Championships worked perfectly last year, so we are delighted that we will now also be working together at the BOSS OPEN. It is an imperative of the hour and essential for the future to pay special attention to the issue of sustainability at major events such as tennis tournaments. Together with waterdrop® we are setting important accents in this area, just as we are with Porsche AG, which has joined the BOSS OPEN as an 'Official Car & Mobility Partner' and will equip the shuttle fleet with electrified vehicles and hybrid models", emphasizes tournament director Edwin Weindorfer.
